Delhi Police press conference to give information on JNU dispute

Delhi Police press conference on JNU dispute. Delhi Police said in the press conference that the miss information and wrong information related to the JNU controversy is being circulated. Delhi Police has held a press conference to brief about all the investigations that have taken place so far.
The case is being investigated under the SIT at the crime branch.

Online registration was going on in JNU from 1st to 5th which is done every 6 months. The controversy in JNU increased due to these dates. The investigation has revealed that Student Front of India, All India Students Federations, All India student associations, democratic student federations were mainly involved in this dispute. Students of these four organizations were against registration since October. These students were opposed to many issues with the government.

When registration started in January, the member of AISA, SFI, AISF, DSF  students harassed and threatened the rest of the other students who wanted to register.

Around 3 pm on January 1, the member students of all these organizations went to the centralized server room and tampered with the servers. After the servers were stopped, the JNU authority lodged a complaint with the Delhi Police, in which the police imposed damage under Section 3 or Public Property Act.

When the servers were repaired on the 3rd, these student organizations forcibly entered the server room again on the 4th and the next day, the server was severely damaged, after which the server was completely stalled.

On the 5th, at 11 am, the students of these students’ union scrambled with 4 students and some guard staff present at the gate. Students of AISA, SFI, AISF, DSF attacked Periyar hostel around 5 pm.

Police said that we were also formed WhatsApp groups. CCTV footage not found due to server shutdown in the 3rd and 4th incidents. Chunchun Kumar, Pankaj Mishra, Ishi Ghosh, Sucheta Talukdar, Vaskar Vijay, Priya Ranjan, Yogendra Bhardwaj (Admin of Unity Against Left), Vikas Patel, Dolan Samanta have been identified by the police. They were involved in clashes of three, four and five dates.
