You can easily change the background of the login screen in Windows 7, and there are two ways –
1) Tweaks.com – Logon Changer for Windows 7:
The Tweaks.com logon changer for windows 7 This is free software that helps to easily change the background of the logon screen. For this, you do not need to install this software. Just download and run this software and change the Logon Screen in it.
When you run it, the Logon Changer window opens where the Change Logon Screen, Test, Revert to Default Logon Screen and About are the four buttons. Click on the Change Logon Screen button and select the path of the image you want for the background. By clicking the Revert to Default Logon Screen button, you can bring the old default screen.
The image you want for the background here should be less than 245kb. If you select an image of greater size, then Logon Changer for Windows 7 automatically copies the image and reduces its size to match the aspect ratio of the image screen.
This software works very well, but you cannot set the default path of the image and select it every time.
2) Windows 7 Logon Background Changer:
Windows 7 Logon Background Changer is also a free open source software that easily replaces Windows 7’s Logon screen wallpaper.
Enabling Custom Backgrounds:
Some users want to change the background of the Logon Screen without using a third-party applications. For this, Windows 7 has to enable this feature which is by default disabled. For this follow these steps –
This method needs to amend the registry –
Type Regedit in the search bar of the Windows Start menu.
Now the Registry Editor window will open.
Go through the path below here –
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SOFTWARE / Microsoft / Windows / CurrentVersion / Authentication / LogonUI / Background.
Now double click on the OEMBackground option on the left side of the window and make the value 0 to 1.
If OEMBackground is not available here, then right-click here and take the new DWORD value and name it OEM Background.
Open Windows Explorer and go through the following path:
C: \ Windows \ System32 \ oobe \ info \ backgrounds
Paste the image you want here and name it backgroundDefault.jpg.
(Keep in mind that the image size should be less than 245KB)
After changing the background of Logon Screen, now is the time to change the image of the user account. In Windows 7, the default image remains the same for every user and it is not synonymous to replace it. Here you can learn how to change this image –
The default path of this image is C: \ ProgramData \ Microsoft \ User Account Pictures \ and the name of this image is user.bmp.
You just have to change this image and replace it with another image. But the size of this image should be 128 x 128 pixels and the image should be in 24-bit bitmap (.bmp) format.
